KİTVAK, an İzmir-based foundation, was founded to support cancer patients, primarily children with cancer, in the treatment process and their relatives struggling with the disease.
In line with our objective, Ege University Kitvak Tülay Aktaş Oncology Hospital, in which about 40 thousand patients have outpatient and inpatient treatment, and marrow transplant each year, was put into service on May 18, 2004, and Ege University – Kitvak Guest-House for Patients and Patient’s Relatives on October 7, 2011 and Kitvak – Abdulrezzak Sancak Guest-House for Patients and Patient’s Relatives on December 18, 2017. These works completed with the investment of TRY 50,000.000 are our Foundation’s biggest source of pride.
Ege University Tülay Aktaş Oncology Hospital, Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, the first work of our Foundation, is accredited by the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and also it is a health center with “JACIE Accreditation” which is the world’s most significant accreditation in this field.
Having developed for the fulfillment of accommodation needs of oncology patients and their relatives who cannot afford during the diagnosis and treatment processes, “Reserved Room” is a very significant project that should always remain in the forefront in order to meet the increasing demand in our two guest-houses. Within this scope of the ‘Reserved Room’ project, 60 patients and patient’s relatives have stayed in Ege University Kitvak Guest-House for Patients and Patient’s Relatives for 1685 nights, and 83 in DEU Kitvak-Abdulrezzak Sancak Guest-House for 2017 nights within this year.
We keep supporting the patients and patient’s relatives who stay in our guest-houses and hospital offering health service and bone marrow transplant for many children and adults to the extend of our ability thanks to the institutions, organizations and all our donators.
